The latest creation of the RM 52-05 Tourbillon ”Pharrell Williams Saphir” is that of the full sapphire tripartite case, that is crafted from a solid block of sapphire, measuring 49.94 x 42.35mm and 16.15 mm in thickness. Stettler in Lyss, Switzerland was designated this task, which proved to be arduous, with its moving parts and ergonomically curved tripartite case, spending 40 days, 24/7 of continuous machining to produce just one case.

The dial of the RM 52-05 Pharrell Williams with its astronaut’s helmet that is constructed from grade 5 Titanium and reflected in the visor is the view of the Earth from Mars and is made from a single piece of 5N red gold that has been hand-engraved then grand-feu enamelled and hand-painted by artisan Pierre-Alain Lozeron, depicting with accuracy the Mariner Valley where the first ever Mars probe touched down. Skeletonised hands with white luminescent tips and lumed hour markers allowing excellent readability in low light conditions. Paired with a rubber strap in yellow and secured with a titanium double folding clasp. The hands and bridges are constructed from grade 5 titanium that has been skeletonised to mirror rocket launch platforms or satellite arms. The crown is based on the design of a rocket capsule, with the rubber surrounding it reflecting the profile of the Martian Rover tyre. Water Resistant to 30 meters.

Powered by the calibre RM52-05 a manual winding tourbillon movement which can be viewed via the sapphire walls. The baseplate and bridges are constructed in grade 5 titanium with the addition of blue aventurine glass (a form of quartz) that shimmers like the universe with all its stars. Power reserve of 42 hours.
